GUSTAV MAAS HOME

I WAS VERY PLEASED TO SEE A BLOG POST ON A HOUSE FOR SALE, SINCE IT HAPPENED TO BE ONE WHICH I HAD DECORATED (AND FOR A CLIENT WHO HAS ALREADY HIRED ME TO DO THE NEXT HOUSE).
I LOVE THIS HOUSE, A BEAUTIFUL FEDERAL STYLE DESIGNED ORIGINALLY BY ONE OF PALM BEACH PREMIER ARCHITECTS, GUSTAVE MAAS, AND IT IS ALL DECORATED IN SOFT PASTEL COLOURS WITH BRIGHT ACCENTS SHOWING OFF A LOVELY COLLECTION OF ANTIQUES.

I HOPE THAT THE PERSON WHO BUYS IT WILL LOVE IT AS MUCH AS I, BUT REGARDLESS, I WANT IT TO BE SEEN, SO I AM REPRINTING IT BELOW.  SOME OF THE PICTURES FROM THIS HOUSE WILL BE IN THE BOOK TRADITIONAL INTERIORS, LETA AUSTIN FOSTER, SALLIE GIORDANO, INDIA FOSTER, IN BOOKSTORES ON THE FIRST OF SEPTEMBER AND AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDERING AT BOTH AMAZON.COM AND BORDERS AND BARNES AND NOBEL.

IN CASE YOU SUDDENLY FEEL THE NEED FOR A NEW HOUSE IN PALM BEACH, IT'S FOR SALE THROUGH SOTHEBY'S, PALM BEACH, LISTING BROKER, RIDGELY FOSTER, MY HUSBAND.  WELL, OF COURSE.

PALM BEACH PERFECTION ON PENDLETON

My favorite thing about living in Miami is that it is so close to Palm Beach, and one
of these days we would love to have a little weekend home there. In the meantime,
I stalk the MLS. My latest find is this British Colonial style home built in 1931 by
society architect Gustav Maas.

This charming home is located in-town on charming Pendleton Avenue
and features 5 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and 4,462 square feet renovated and
decorated to perfection. You can read more about it here.

UPDATE: I was thrilled to learn that this home was decorated by none
other than the renowned Palm Beach decorator, Leta Austin Foster. You
can see the magazine quality shots over at The Foo Dog Blog.
